Agree with EddieRiggs, However the base fees for standard transactions are pretty much identical between the two, so cost shouldn't be the main deciding factor here. Stripe is definitely superior for keeping customers on your site with a sleek, custom checkout experience. However, a huge portion of online shoppers will instantly abandon their cart if they don't see a PayPal option. I'd highly recommend enabling Stripe as your main card processor and offering PayPal as a secondary choice.Why not offer both? For a brand new store, having PayPal is a huge trust booster because buyers know they're protected if anything goes wrong with their order. However, Stripe feels way more professional during checkout since customers don't have to leave your website to pay. If you can only set up one to start, Stripe is easier to manage, but offering both will give you the highest conversion rate.

Be careful relying solely on PayPal when you're starting out because they are notorious for placing temporary holds on new accounts when sales suddenly spike. Stripe is much smoother for primary card processing, though having a PayPal button alongside it definitely helps win over hesitant buyers.

Fees are pretty comparable, sitting right around the standard rate plus a small fixed fee per transaction. Stripe wins hands down when it comes to site customization and keeping the user journey clean and uninterrupted. That said, name recognition goes to PayPal, especially for shoppers who don't know your business yet. Integrating Stripe as your primary gateway with a secondary PayPal express button gives you the best of both worlds.
