Aged Domain or Brand-New Domain?

If you were launching a new website, would you buy an aged domain or build everything from scratch with a fresh one? What would influence your decision?

I would choose a fresh domain unless the aged one has a clean history, relevant backlinks, and a name that fits the brand. An older domain can save time, but inherited spam or a past penalty can turn it into an expensive shortcut.
