Hello! I am planning to build my first online store, what site can you recommend for starters or newbies?

Hello Roger, hope you are well. There are different eCommerce sites already, that can help you build and create your online shop. But it will also depend on the country where you are located.

Try using Shopify if its available on your country. Its user friendly.

I agree, I think coding your own website is kind of a waste of time when shopify and other website builders are available.
Is there any reason why not to use shopify or wordpress? I still see big companies coding their own websites.

They can code their websites while small businesses rely on site builders like shopify and wordpress.

They have the resource to code their own website and they have more control over it rather than site builders.

I also recommend using established ecommerce like amazon and ebay, if you're not that interested in creating your own website.

That's true Brian, they have a huge amount of paying users already that's why it's good for beginners.

That's true Rachel, but you can always start small like finding a niche product that you're the first one to sell on amazon or ebay.

You're absolutely correct Brian, I might add that you should focus on the customer service part also, if you have good customer service, they are more likely to give out positive reviews.

That's a good idea Emily, if I have enough positive reviews, I can attract more customers that way.
