Beyond price and portfolio examples, which questions help reveal whether a developer is a good fit? I’d want to discuss scope, ownership, maintenance, performance, and how changes will be handled.

I’d ask who owns the source code and accounts, what happens if the project runs late, and how bugs are handled after launch. It also helps to request one recent client reference and a written list of items that are not included.
