Would you pay to learn an app in depth or teach yourself for free?

I've been wondering if it's worth paying for a course or seminar just to learn how to use a specific app more effectively. Some courses teach you techniques and shortcuts that you might not discover on your own, but there are also plenty of free tutorials online. Would you rather pay someone to teach you everything step by step, or learn on your own and figure things out along the way?

I'm curious about which approach works better when you really want to master an app, not just learn the basics.

I'd rather pay for a seminar or course, especially if it comes with a certificate that I can add to my resume. I feel like it's a good investment, especially when you're completely new to an app and don't even know where to start. Teaching yourself can be frustrating when there's so much to learn and you don't know which features to focus on first. Having someone guide you through the process would make things a lot easier and help you learn in a more organized way.

Yep, I'd do the same. I'd rather pay for something that gives me a clear starting point than spend so much time figuring out which books to read, which videos to watch, and whether I'm even learning the right things. When you're teaching yourself, it's easy to get overwhelmed because you don't have anyone to guide you or correct you when you make mistakes. Paying for a course just saves you a lot of that hassle and lets you focus more on actually learning.

Taking a seminar isn't a bad idea, especially when you're learning something technical like Blender, Adobe Photoshop, or AutoCAD. Of course, you can still learn these apps on your own, but it can get frustrating when you make mistakes and have no one to tell you what went wrong. You end up spending more time figuring things out through trial and error and constantly wondering if you're doing things the right way. Having someone guide you can save you a lot of that hassle, especially when you're just starting out.
