Do hashtags on Instagram actually work anymore?

I’ve tried using 3 hashtags, 30 hashtags, and no hashtags at all, but I see almost no difference in reach. Where do your post impressions actually come from?

i think hashtags work best when the hashtag you are using comes from a viral hashtag (which is why it's important to choose your hashtags well). if your hashtag has no traction, you won't feel the difference whether you have the hashtag or not. but if you have a brand-relevant hashtag that people follow and is trending, then impressions will also rise as well.

I agree. Hashtag overloading doesn't work. Hashtags should be relevant but should also be trending or indemand to gain traction. Also easier for people to find your brand as opposed to no hashtags at all. Just be consistent with what's relevant to your brand and what is high in-demand.
