Do Instagram Captions Still Matter for Reach?

Short videos get most of the attention, but I’m unsure how much the caption affects discovery and engagement now. Are detailed captions still worth the effort, or is the opening line enough?

I think captions still matter, mainly for context and searchable keywords rather than raw reach. A strong first line earns the tap, while a few useful sentences and a natural question give interested viewers a reason to stay and respond.
