Does Creating Urgency Actually Help Marketing?

I've seen promotions that make me feel like I need to decide right away, even when I wasn't planning to buy anything in the first place. I understand that some deals really do have deadlines, but constantly pushing customers to act fast can make the offer feel less trustworthy. Have you ever bought something because you were afraid of missing a deal, only to regret it later?

If I were a customer, I'd be more likely to trust a promotion if the deadline actually made sense. Constantly seeing “last chance” deals would make me question whether the offer was even genuine. I'd rather take my time deciding than buy something out of fear of missing out, only to regret it later.
