Does email marketing still work, or is everyone just deleting them?

I get about 50 promo emails a day and skip almost all of them. Does anyone here actually see good open rates with a basic newsletter nowadays?

Open rates for emails is definitely low, which is why if you want to do email marketing, you either have to send hundreds of emails a day OR you have to write your emails and email subjects in a way that sounds personal and will make someone open them. I receive tons of emails a day too, but from time to time, I do find an email that piques my interest, then when I started reading I only then realize it's a marketing email. But by then, they have at least hooked me to read their content. The more the emails are personalized and not generic nor fluffy then more likely people will read and engage.
