What if a client hired you and is already asking why their website isn’t ranking on the first page of Google? You’ve explained that SEO takes time, but they’re starting to question your work. How would you handle the situation?

How would you manage their expectations without losing their trust?

I’d focus on showing the client what’s actually improving, even if the website isn’t ranking yet. Small wins like better traffic or more clicks can help them see that the work is moving in the right direction.

Part of the job is helping clients understand what goes on behind the scenes. Not everyone is familiar with how SEO works, so explaining the process in simple terms can help them see the bigger picture.
Set clear expectations from the start and give clients regular updates on what’s improving. That way, they can see the progress instead of expecting immediate results without knowing what goes into the process.

That's a good point. SEO can take time to show results, so having other signs of progress helps keep expectations realistic. It also gives everyone a clearer idea of what's working while waiting for rankings to improve.

I agree that communication makes a big difference. People are usually more patient when they understand why something takes time and what’s happening behind the scenes. It’s hard to trust a process when you’re left guessing about the results.
