Sometimes, a website looks great and works fine, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's easy for search engines to understand. There are things like page speed, mobile usability, and how the pages are organized that can affect how well a site performs. If you were checking a website's SEO for the first time, what would you look at first?

I'd start by checking how fast the website loads and how it looks and works on a phone. Even if the design is good, people might leave if the pages take too long to load or they can't find what they're looking for. I'd also check if the pages are organized properly and if the titles and URLs make sense. A website shouldn't just look good; it should also be easy to use and understand.

I'd say a website is properly optimized when everything works well from the ground up. The information should be complete, the pages should load smoothly without lag, and the plugins should actually serve a purpose instead of slowing the site down. It's not just about ranking on search engines; the whole website should also work properly and give visitors a good experience.

I think a website is already in a good starting position when all its components can load properly and handle the tasks they're supposed to do, even if the loading speed is still a bit slow. At least the basic functions are working, and you can identify which parts still need improvement. From there, I'd check the page speed and mobile usability to see what else needs to be fixed.

A website should also work properly across different devices, not just on a computer. Some visitors use their phones or tablets, so the pages should be easy to navigate and the content should display correctly regardless of the screen size. If a website has issues on certain devices, it can affect the user experience and make visitors leave instead of exploring the site further.
