I’ve been running my business for a while now, and I’m starting to think about investing in paid advertising. The products are ready, but I’m not sure if the business has enough traction yet to make ads worth the money.

What are the signs that a business is actually ready to start advertising?

I think having a few regular customers first would help. That way, you already have some idea of what people like before putting money into ads.

Having that initial feedback can also help you spot what needs improving before you start paying to bring in more people.

I would analyze if the offer, target audience, and ability to fulfill the promises are set up correctly. In most cases, businesses do not fail because they have poorly optimized websites, no social media presence, or any other issues related to promotion. However, you need to have a viable offer that is understandable to the customer and has reasonable pricing. I would also ask if the business owner can measure the advertising results and afford to continue advertising with a decent conversion rate.

A lot also depends on whether the business understands what makes customers hesitate before buying. Even with a good product, people might need clearer information, proof that it works, or a reason to choose it over other options.

I'd make sure the business has a clear target audience, a reliable way to handle orders, and a budget for testing campaigns. Starting small helps you see what works without risking too much money before you know which ads bring actual customers.
