A website starts getting more inquiries and attracting people who are genuinely interested in its products or services, but its Google rankings stay almost the same. Would you still consider that a successful SEO campaign? What results would you show to prove that the strategy is working, especially to someone who mainly looks at keyword rankings?

I'd still consider it a successful campaign because SEO isn't just about getting your website to rank higher on Google. If you're receiving more inquiries and attracting people who are actually interested in what you offer, that already shows progress. I'd focus on metrics like the number of inquiries, conversion rates, and how much traffic comes from relevant searches to show the actual impact of the strategy. At the end of the day, higher rankings are great, but what really matters is whether those efforts are helping the business grow.

Consistent rankings alongside an increase in inquiries can still be a good sign that the SEO strategy is working. Not every improvement has to come with a big jump in keyword positions, especially when the website is already reaching people who are genuinely interested in the business. But if the goal is to rank higher, it might be worth reviewing the website's content, structure, and user experience to see what could be improved. Sometimes, a few adjustments can help move things forward without having to change the entire strategy.

Being consistent is already a good thing because SEO takes time, and constantly changing your approach can make it harder to understand what's actually working. I'd rather build on a strategy that's been delivering steady results than keep trying something new just because the numbers aren't increasing as quickly as expected. Progress doesn't always have to be dramatic to be worthwhile.

You don't have to aim too high right away, especially when you're still building your website's presence. It's better to set realistic goals and work toward them gradually rather than pressure yourself to achieve major results too soon. SEO takes time, so small improvements can still be valuable steps toward long-term growth.
