I would also ask for a manual fallback and short documentation so the workflow can be maintained after delivery.

I would scope the first version around one trigger, one destination, and one measurable outcome. The document should include sample inputs, field mappings, duplicate handling, retry rules, alert recipients, and who can approve changes. It should also state what is intentionally out of scope. A brief acceptance test with normal, missing, and malformed data catches most disagreements before delivery.
