Unlike Instagram where posts peak in 24 hours, Pinterest pins can take months to rank. How long did it take for your pins to start driving traffic?
For a new account, I would give pins several weeks before judging them and expect some to take two or three months to build steady impressions. The useful signal is whether impressions and saves trend upward across a batch of related pins, rather than whether one pin spikes quickly.
Those checkpoints also help separate a slow-indexing pin from a weak one. I would note seasonality and search volume alongside the 30/60/90-day metrics, because a good holiday pin can look dormant until demand begins. When revising, publish a fresh variation and keep the original live so you can see whether the issue was timing or creative.Looking at the batch trend is much more reliable. I’d set checkpoints at 30, 60, and 90 days and compare impressions, saves, and outbound click rate by keyword and design. If impressions rise but clicks stay flat, change the creative or promise; if the whole batch stays invisible, revisit keyword and board relevance instead of simply reposting the same pin.
Those checkpoints make the diagnosis much clearer. I would also compare each batch against the account's median rather than a single breakout pin, and annotate major changes such as board moves or landing-page edits. That makes it easier to tell whether growth came from better targeting, stronger creative, or simply more time in the index.
