Is a high number of sales always a sign that an online store is doing well?

One seller gets hundreds of orders, while another gets fewer orders but makes more profit and deals with fewer customer complaints. It makes me wonder, is having more sales really the best way to measure success? If you were running an online store, what numbers would you pay attention to besides the number of orders?

I think consistency matters more than having one huge sales day or earning a lot in your first year. A business can make a ton of money at the beginning, but if sales keep dropping in the following years, that success might not last. I'd rather see a business maintain steady sales over time than rely on a few big months. After all, what matters is whether the business can keep going and stay profitable in the long run.

I feel like a product getting a lot of sales means people are happy with what they're getting for the price they pay. It doesn't always have to be a high-end product, as long as the quality is reasonable for its price and it lives up to what the seller promises. Sometimes, it's the reputation a product builds over time that keeps people buying it. Customers know what to expect, and that kind of trust can go a long way for a business.

A high number of sales can be a good sign because it shows that people see value in what the store is selling. If customers keep buying from the same store, it probably means the products are doing what they're supposed to do and people are satisfied with what they get. Of course, sales aren't the only thing that matters, but having customers who keep choosing your products says something about how well they work.
