What’s the first thing you should consider before promoting a product?

This question came to mind while I was doing some inventory work yesterday. I’d love to hear what you guys think about it.

I think the first thing to consider is whether the product actually solves a problem or gives people a reason to want it. Then understand that, it’s much easier to figure out how to promote it.
