What Makes an Affiliate Marketing Environment Toxic?

I've noticed how competition can change the way people treat each other in affiliate marketing. Instead of sharing tips or learning from one another, some people become too focused on outperforming everyone else, even if it means spreading misleading information or promoting products they barely understand. I believe competition can help people improve, but it becomes unhealthy when earning more matters more than being honest. Have you ever encountered this kind of behavior in an affiliate community?

An affiliate marketing environment becomes toxic when people focus on sabotaging competitors, spreading misleading claims, or pressuring others to promote products they don't believe in. Unfair commission practices and a lack of transparency can also create problems. Healthy competition is normal, but it shouldn't come at the expense of trust or honest recommendations.

I think affiliate marketing becomes toxic when people care more about hitting their sales targets than the people buying the products. Some affiliates will promote almost anything just to earn commissions, without considering whether the product is actually useful or could cause problems for buyers. It gets worse when they avoid questions, give incomplete information, or respond poorly to customers who need clarification. Wanting to earn money is understandable, but it shouldn't come at the expense of other people's trust or hard-earned money.

One thing I find a bit toxic is when affiliates or sellers seem to copy each other's pricing too much. Like, you could check the same product from different stores and notice that each one has a different price, then suddenly the next day, they're all selling it for almost the same amount. It's kind of frustrating to see how quickly everyone follows the same move instead of finding their own way to compete. A little competition is fine, but when it turns into everyone copying everyone else, it gets old pretty fast.
