I’m thinking about documenting a 30-day marketing challenge. Besides traffic and conversions, what would you track each week to make the progress useful to others?

I’d add weekly notes on time spent, experiments launched, and what changed after each test. Tracking leading indicators like email signups or qualified clicks would also show progress before revenue catches up.

Tracking the time spent on each task and the type of content people respond to would be useful too. It helps show which efforts are worth continuing and which ones need a different approach, especially when working with limited time or budget.

Comparing short videos with static posts in terms of link clicks and time spent creating them would show which format gives better results with less effort.

I’d focus on engagement rate because it gives you an idea of how people respond to your content. A post might get plenty of views but very few interactions, so checking likes, comments, and shares can help you figure out what actually resonates with your audience and what kind of content is worth making more of.

I’d document the assumptions I made before starting and compare them with what actually happened each week. It would be interesting to see which expectations were right and which ones turned out differently once the strategy was put into practice.
