Have you ever recommended something that turned out to be a bad fit for someone? Even if you genuinely believed the product was worth trying, not everyone will have the same experience. How would you handle the situation if a buyer came back disappointed with a product you promoted?

I’d listen to their concerns first instead of getting defensive. Not every product works the same way for everyone, but that doesn’t mean their disappointment should be dismissed. I’d be honest about what I know, help them explore possible solutions, and be more careful with my recommendations moving forward.

The responsible thing to do is stay professional and not take it personally. Listen to the customer’s concerns and acknowledge where their experience differs from what you said in your promotion. It’s a chance to address the issue properly and be more mindful of how you present products moving forward.

Sometimes, the best way to handle the situation is to help the customer find something that better suits their needs. Instead of trying to convince them that the product is still worth buying, I'd rather suggest an alternative that addresses what they were looking for in the first place. A sale isn't always worth saving if the product genuinely doesn't fit the customer. Giving them a more suitable option can leave a better impression than simply trying to defend the original recommendation.
