What's the biggest SEO myth you believed when you started?

When I was starting out, there was a lot of SEO advice that sounded convincing, but not all of it turned out to be true. It's easy to assume certain things will help your website rank higher until you learn more about how SEO actually works. What's one SEO myth you used to believe, and what made you realize it wasn't true?

I used to expect results pretty quickly after making changes to a website's SEO. I'd check the rankings and wonder why nothing seemed to be improving yet. Eventually, I learned that SEO takes time, and you can't really tell if a strategy is working after just a few days. You have to give the changes time to take effect and keep monitoring the results before deciding what needs to be adjusted.

I used to think that adding more keywords to an article would help it rank higher on Google. I thought the more often I used the target keyword, the better the chances of getting noticed. But I eventually learned that stuffing too many keywords into the content can actually do more harm than good. It's better to use them naturally and focus on making the article useful for readers.

I used to think that having more backlinks automatically meant better rankings on Google. I thought the more websites linked to your page, the better your chances of ranking higher. But I later learned that where those links come from matters, too. It's not just about getting as many backlinks as possible, but also making sure they're relevant and come from trustworthy websites.
