When Do You Decide to Pause a PPC Ad?

How much data do you wait for before pausing an underperforming ad? I try not to react too early, but letting a weak creative run for too long can burn through a small budget.

I set the decision rule before launch: enough impressions to judge the hook, then roughly 20–30 clicks before treating conversion data seriously. If CTR is weak early I’ll pause the creative, but if clicks are healthy I give the landing page and offer more time.

I'd give it a fair chance while keeping spending limits in place. If the results still aren't improving, I'd test a different creative or targeting approach instead of wasting more money on something that isn't working.

I’ve seen some marketers let a small campaign run for around two to three weeks before making a decision. That gives them time to see how the audience responds and whether the results improve, rather than judging everything from the first few days.

I’d pause a campaign once I’ve gathered enough results to make a decision, especially if something isn’t working as expected. If the campaign is bringing in the results I wanted, I can stop it once I’ve reached my goal. But if the performance is poor or the budget is being wasted, I’d look into what’s going wrong before deciding whether to pause it or make some changes.

I'd pause a PPC ad when it no longer serves its purpose or when the spending isn't justified by the results. If the goal is simply to introduce a product to more people, engagement alone doesn't tell me whether the campaign is helping the business. People can interact with an ad without becoming customers, so I'd want to know if that exposure eventually leads to inquiries or sales. Otherwise, it can feel like paying to promote a post without knowing whether it brings any real value to the store.
