Growing a business with your own money might take longer, but you won't have to worry about paying off debt, borrowing money, on the other hand, could help you expand sooner, but it also comes with financial risks. Which approach would you consider, and what would make you choose one over the other?

It depends on how confident I am that I can keep the business running and maintain its growth. If the business is doing well and has a steady income, borrowing money to expand might be worth considering. But if I'm still unsure about its stability, I'd rather grow slowly using my own money than take on debt that I might struggle to pay back.

I'd rather grow the business slowly using my own money because I want to make sure the business can stand on its own first. Borrowing money might help me expand faster, but it also means taking on responsibilities before I know how stable the business really is. I'd rather build a solid foundation first, then consider borrowing once I have a better idea of what the business can handle.

It's kind of like the people who pitch their businesses on Shark Tank. They're not just there to brag about what they've built. They have a plan and a vision for where they want their business to go, but sometimes they need a partner who can offer guidance, share their experience, or help them take things to the next level. I think borrowing or getting outside support makes more sense when you know what you want to achieve and have a clear plan for making it happen.

I feel like it really depends on the type of business and how much money it needs to grow. For example, if I were running a small online shop, I'd probably start with my own money and expand little by little as I gained more customers. That way, I could learn what sells and manage my expenses without worrying about debt right away. But if I had a business that needed expensive equipment or a bigger space to keep up with demand, borrowing might be worth considering. I'd just want to make sure I had a solid plan before taking that risk.

Borrowing a large amount of money can be pretty risky, especially when you're still trying to figure out how stable your business is. I understand why some owners choose to take that risk to expand faster, but having a bigger budget doesn't always guarantee better results. If the business struggles to earn enough, you'll still have to worry about paying back the money you borrowed. I'd rather take things slowly than put myself in a situation where the debt becomes harder to manage.
